When ev'ry hymn is sung a thousand times
By us assembled before heaven's throne;
When Zion's bells faint from ringing happy chimes,
And first joyous meetings are finally done;
When the children of love have gazed our fill
Upon the shining King who died for us;
When each one in turn has savored the thrill
Of a private chat no one dares to rush:
What then? Owning endless years of glory
Yet held in store for heaven's joyful host,
No hymn unsung and no untold story,
How will we spend all the days we yet boast?
No fear; heaven's book has no blank pages;
He who launched the stars still guides the ages!
Got your Bible? We are told by Isaiah in his book, chapter 35, verses 10-11, "And the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy in their hearts. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
I believe there are pastimes in heaven that we who go there will be able to share and enjoy. Our bodies will be at their prime, their very best condition. We shall not grow old and disabled, as we do in this life, and we will never get sick. There will always be plenty to do. Think of how we will enjoy walking with men and women that we read about in the Bible. There will be no end of stories and of learning things unknown to us. Boredom in heaven? Not in all eternity!
