My God has been my rock, and my horn of plenty;
My God has been the beacon that steers me gently;
He is my comfort, and the post on which I lean!
What more can my God be than He's already been?
My God is greater than the troubles of this world;
My God is mightier than all the bombs ever hurled;
My God is tenderer than any newborn's skin;
My God is closer than any spouse or friend;
My God can mend like new His child's heart-rending grief;
My God restores more than all stolen by every thief;
My God is wiser than sages or man-made laws;
My God's mercy delivers me from Satan's claws!
And when at last I lie down to arise no more,
He will meet my soul and waft me to heaven's door,
Jesus the key that opens for me endless bliss;
His fellowship the prize I can't afford to miss!
It takes your breath away when you meditate on the greatness of God. As Creator, He launched the universe into developing itself; so large, it has been expanding at 186,000 miles per second for 14 billion years, and it is destined to continue growing 7 billion more, unless He intervenes!
He made man out of the dust of the earth, called "star stuff" by Carl Sagan, because the very clay upon which we walk is the powdered remains of exploded stars. No other "god" that has come from the minds of men claims to possess such power and capabilities, except, perhaps, the "Allah" of Islam, the figment of the Arab Mohammed's imagination in 610 A.D., almost 600 years after the death of Jesus; and he had posession of the Bible from which he invented a divinity patterned on YHWH (pronounced Ya-way), the Jehovah who first revealed Himself to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our Christian God is that same YHWH.
It is the same God that re-established Israel as a nation in 1948 after 2000 years of living in other nations, as prophesied in the Bible (See Ezekiel 36:24, for example). This God, our God, has empowered the 7 million Israelis to defend their existence for 61 years from 7 invasions by the 200 million Islamic Arabs that surround them in the Middle East. And it is He who will soon come to earth again, this time to destroy Israel's enemies!
