How hard to keep your faith, when none respond!
Toiling in whited fields, year after year,
Telling the gospel news, hither and yon,
Yet none reborn, to build your sagging cheer!
To move the mountain, seems a task in vain,
With little faith that one will honor the call;
But proclaim you must, for lost you might gain;
Your doubt must not cause ripe fruit fail to fall.
To build your faith, take journeys in the Book;
Noah preached six-score years to no effect;
Isaiah was sawn for the pains he took!
Surely, you have not paid so much as yet.
Do not weary in casting saving bread;
It won't return void; none in vain is spread.
It took Noah 120 years to build the Ark; thousands came to gawk and mock, and he warned them to repent of their sins to be saved from drowning in the flood. It had not yet rained in the world; they refused to believe him; instead they laughed at him. He and his family went aboard, and God let it rain for 40 days and nights. Everyone not on the Ark drowned.
Isaiah was told by God to tell the Jews to repent of their sins; that God was going to seal up their minds so that when the Messiah came, they would not understand what He said in order to be saved. They laughed at Isaiah and continued in their sins. When they grew tired of hearing the same message from Isaiah, they put him in a hollow log and sawed it in two. When Jesus the Messiah came, their minds were sealed, and they rejected His words.
"so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)
Isaiah's words frrom God accomplished His purpose, and so did Noah's. So will my words accomplish His purpose. I write these blogs every day in hope that someone will read them and grow closer to God. The scripture above assures me that the words I write will have their effect.
