A life built on Jesus’ words is like a house
Whose foundation is anchored in bed-rock—
Raging storms seek occupants’ lives to douse,
But it stands firm and safe, their fury mock!
In trusting Jesus, life lasts forever;
Death and the grave end not its brief sojourn;
What a cruel joke, if this vain endeavor
Were all that men had in which to yearn!
Abortion ends some ere they’re e’en begun,
And the longest-lived dies famished for more;
The best there is for men is trust the Son;
Rejecting Him is but locking the door!
This life is but dream, before we arise,
To separate the foolish from the wise!
Promise Made: Matthew 7:24-27 (Jesus speaking)
“ ‘Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rains came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall—it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rains came, the winds blew. the streams rose, and the winds blew against that house and it fell with a crash.’ “
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
