When God breathed man life, He gave him a soul;
That alone was enough for the ages;
But when God added Grace, man's little scroll
Became an epic tale of countless pages!
Not done yet, the Lord added the pow'r of thought,
And the mind of man could soar heights sublime,
To overlook all things his God had wrought,
To enrich his life, to redeem his time.
It is his brain that lifts man o'er others;
He should not waste this divine gift of mind
On man-made trifles and Hell-sent smothers,
While scriptural truths and heaven's vistas pine!
Spend not time on ho-hum bits and pieces,
When holy counsel in vain beseeches!
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable---if anything is excellent or praiseworthy---think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)
Jesus said in Matthew 9:37, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."
How can one who is seeking to love as Jesus commanded waste precious time on frivolous and selfish things of the world and neglect helping others for a lack of free time?
