Fate Worse Than Death

Had Lucifer been a mortal traitor
And God a human king, he would have died
For treason against his own creator,
With no trial or delay for what he tried!
God's thoughts are not like ours, nor are His ways;
By His Spirit, not by power or might,
His Kingdom is ruled; the Ancient of Days
Will turn the other cheek instead of fight!
Man's justice demands an eye for an eye,
But God's word is sharper than any sword;
His mercy to foes heaps coals of fire high,
While His grace imparts what they can't afford!
Lucifer will spend his days in torment;
To a fate worse than death he will be sent!

"And there was war in heaven, Michael [archangel] and his angels fought against the dragon [Lucifer], and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down----that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." (Revelation 12:7-9) [brackets added]

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." (1 Peter 5:8-9)

God's way is by His word, not by force. Natural man cannot understand spiritual warfare. It is gentle, merciful, and loving.
