Though now my strength ebbs, the Lord upholds
me;
If my heart fails, His heart He fast provides.
When my body is sown where none can see,
He takes my living soul to His blest side!
The unfaithful may prosper here below,
While I must content with rags and leavings;
But riches disolve when owners’ breaths go;
True wealth that lasts awaits those believing!
How good it is to be near God and bliss!
The Sovereign Lord gives strength and refuge;
If you think this life is all that there is,
You’ll be chagrinned by torment’s deluge!
Justice delayed is not justice denied;
Judgment awaits all on the other side!
Promise Made: Psalm 73:26-28—“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Those who are far from you [God] will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell all of your deeds.” (NIV) [Brackets added]
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
