Whosoever Will

"God predestined all those who will be saved,"
I heard one say; "Those of you who respond
Whose names the Book of Life has pre-engraved
May come; if not, with life you can't abscond!"
What?! Dare he counter Christ's inclusive charge?
Did He not say, "Go into all the world,
Invite the lost, and My Kingdom enlarge?"
Is the banner of grace for all unfurled,
Or tightly rolled for unsuitable men?
Did God lie, Who said, "Whosoever will?"
To whom on earth did He the key extend,
Some to reject, some with life's water fill?
"And the Spirit and the bride say come";
Who dares replace that with some other drum?

The Bible says the Book of Life has the names of all who are to be saved written in it by the Lord before the creation of the world. This fact brings up the question of whether any person whatever has an equal opportunity of being saved. It may cause you to ask, "What's the use of deciding to believe in Jesus as the Son of God and to follow His teachings in the Bible when it may possibly be invalid for me? How do I know whether my name was written in the Book by God thousands of years before I was born?" How can you make sure your name is in the Book of Life? Not to worry; you can be sure.

"All that the Father gave me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away... For my Father's will is that everyone that comes to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:37-40)

This is clear assurance that if you believe in Jesus, your name is already inscribed in the Book of Life and you will be saved. How perfect is God's master plan for the world! He can do anything, and everything He does is perfect! John the apostle calls for anyone who hears the gospel to come:

"The Spirit and the bride [the church] say 'Come!' And let him who hears say, 'Come!' Whoever is thirsty, let him come, and whoever wishes let him take the free gift of the water of life." (Revelation 22:17) [Brackets added]
