When Moses communed with God face-to-face,
His countenance grew so bright with glory,
He wore a veil before the Jewish race—
Its radiance detracted from his story!
Many Christians today live so nigh to God,
Their faces shine ever more illumined,
Revealing how close to the Lord they trod,
Showing others that with God they’ve communed!
Would that all believers’ faces so shined,
For non-believers could see Christ in them;
Scoffers and skeptics would be more inclined
To want what they’ve found in following Him!
Doubters of the Lord think their lives are free,
But they know not freedom till Christ they see!
Promise Made: 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (Paul writes)—“Now the Lord [Christ Jesus] is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (NIV) [Brackets added]
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
