God's Precious Promise 12: Rewards Enemy-Lovers

No militant Jewish fighter was He—
Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God—
As His people thought Messiah would be,
Misled by those charged God’s righteous
paths trod!
Prophets had told: Not by pow’r or by
might,
But by God’s Spirit*, will the world be
won
From the darkness of death into life’s light;
The Messiah: Jesus, God’s beloved Son!
So Jesus taught: Your enemies, as well,
Should be loved, for great will be your reward—
Loving acts may save them from fiery hell,
If coming from you, mistreated so hard!
The Father is kind to haters of Him,
Thus His children should to haters of them!
