God's Precious Promise2: Mercy Guaranteed

If the people of God have lost their way,
And His face is turned from them for a time,
His mercy upon them He will display,
If they return to Him, His face will shine!
They must humble themselves and seek His face;
Pray, repent, and turn from their wicked ways;
He will hear from heaven and pour out grace,
Forgive them, heal their land, and bless their days!
God will not desert His penitent child,
Nor earnest pleas for forgiveness ignore;
His repenting prodigal’s not exiled,
But finds his Father ready to restore!
Human flesh is weak, prone to sin and stray;
God’s mercy is quick, sin’s taint to belay!

Promise Made: 2 Chronicles 7:13-14—“ ‘When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land, or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’ “

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“That it you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
